Love gaming? Love girls? Or maybe you’re just looking for an edgy style thats gonna fit your personality…

Egirls are all the rage, and there are plenty of them on TikTok and Insta who you probably wanna follow for that style steal or just to check out their posts.

What is an egirl?

An egirl is usually a girl who likes to play online games or who also has an interest in anime. Egirls tend to dress similar to the old school emo, skater girl or sometimes goth, although usually a bit less of a focus on black clothes.

Egirls will often have crazy dyed hair, makeup designed to look like a cat or other random animal, and often wear cool and sexy clothes such as miniskirts, long socks or stockings, or retro clothing to fit in with the gaming element.

Most egirls will have a good selection of tattoos, especially anime tattoos. Not to mention piercings and of course dyed hair.

Another thing you’ll notice about egirls is they’ll often be pulling the ahego face in selfies. If you don’t know what that is then the best way to explain it is that tongue out rolling eyes expression common in anime – and cosplay pornstars.

Oh and egirls don’t necessarily have to be girls. There are plenty of eboys or trans egirls out there too.

eGirl or eTHOT?

While the egirl might be revealing and sexy in the way she presents herself, be careful not to compare her to the eTHOT.

For those who don’t know, THOT is short for ‘that hoe over there’ and tends to refer to women who wear revealing or ‘slutty’ clothing. It’s kinda the modern version of slut shaming. An eTHOT will often be the sort of woman who dresses in revealing cosplay clothing and often promotes her OnlyFans or Fansly account to promote her nudes or near nude modelling.

By contrast, an eGirl is usually a genuine gamer or anime fan who loves to dress in the style of her heroes. There is often a bit of crossover though as it’s not unusual for an eGirl to play up to her sexy side and wear lingerie or maybe even display some cleavage or her butt.

If in doubt, an eGirl will often promoter either her Twitch streaming or gamer credentials while an eTHOT will pose half naked and promote her OF account.

How to dress like an egirl

if you’re looking for a sexy egirl style, aim for plaid miniskirts, short cropped tops, oversized baggy jumpers, anime t-shirts or retro game or cartoon t-shirts. Lace dresses or underwear worn as outerwear is also a typical egirl style – and if you’re looking to be a sexy egirl you could wear lace or silk camisoles or nighty over a pair of baggy jeans, dungarees or combat trousers.

Some other good ideas to dress like an egirl include chunky boots or chunky soled shoes.
